Abstract: The main problems existing in design and management of the flashing gate among the low dam approach hinges of approach water power station on the Yi River and Luo River are analyzed.The limitation of present calculating method used in the flushing gate design among the approach hinges on the mountain area river is discussed. A new method is put forward according to the width of the natural and steady major bed,the need of sand-flushing and crurrent sand of the flushing gate and channel. This method is proved reasonable by calculation examples.
