Abstract: Ellipses can be thought of as outstanding characteristics in the English Comparative Constructions. More or less, some components in the comparative constructions are omitted. But not all the comparative constructions can take the form of ellipsis. Ellipsis or not depends on some principles. Therefore, it is very important to comprehend and express these constructions accurately and unmistakably under the correct cognition of ellipses.
