Abstract: The protection of files is the prerequisite for their permanent use and it has a very important position in the file work of the new era. According to current practice in file work, safety precautions include the following three aspects: the protection of traditional paper files, the protection of electron ic data indigital codes, and the protection of file clerks themselves. Effective measures must be taken to integrate the three aspects and promote the healthy exploitation of file resources.
