Abstract: Yan Yu's Verdict on Thousands of Years of Legal Cases Theory is the work of poetic attention in successive dynasties. First, The Verdict on Thousands of Years of Legal Cases is to restore the glorious tradition of combination of scene and feeling of poetry. thousands of years ago since Han and Wei dynasty; Second, it is to discover the differences between logical thinking and imagery thinking. Under the banner of Verdict on Thousands of Years of Legal Cases, Yanyu dissolved Zen Buddhism into his poetics, put forward with a pair of concept of witticism and Shucan, distinguished the relations among witticism and imagery thinking and feeling, demonstrated the relations between witticism and Shucan. Its significance is that it assailed the evils of taking prose as poem and taking reason as poem of the poets in Song dynasty, provided a theory basis for the formation of imagery thinking, put forward with a new theory systems and some new category proposition.
