Abstract: The reasons of large amount of English loan words referenced by Chinese are as follows: the powerful comprehensive factors of the English language, the status and function of English language itself, the requirement of our reform and opening up. The common translation methods of English loan words includes direct reference, transliteration, free translation, combination of pronunciation and meaning and so on. According to the above factors, the impact of English loan words upon Chinese language both has its positive side and negative side.
