Abstract: With the transition from industrial civilization to ecological civilization, it is necessary for universities of natural resources to strengthen the education of ecological civilization for students. Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought has four enlightenments for the education of ecological civilization in universities of natural resources: From the perspective of purpose, the emphasis is on shaping the “One body and two wings” ecological personality of natural resources college students. From the perspective of content, Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought highlights transcendence in the world view, values and methodology to improve the connotation of education; From the perspective of method, the emphasis is on the synergy of ecological civilization education; From the perspective of value, Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought provides a way to solve the problems in the field of ecological civilization education, such as the absence of the subject, the passive object and the lack of evaluation.
