On Attitude of the Peasants of Late Period of Qing Dynasty towards the Western Culture

The attitude of the peasants of late period of Qing Dynasty towards the Western culture presented two opposing extremes:for one thing,accepted and used,for another,excluded blindly and destroyed.It related to both values of the peasants themselves and the social environment and class condition of semi-feudal,semi-colonial of China at that time.Deep thought on this period hist ory will play a reference role to the construction of the peasants’ideology and culture under the situation of Chinese reform and open today.
