    On the Reiterative Diction in Classic Poems and Its English Translating

    • In Chinese classical poetry,the reiterative diction is one of rhetoric methods.Reiterative diction in poems has four main rhetoric functions:to express feelings,to narrate events,to describe articles and to simulate sounds.Reiteralive words can be classified into reiterative nouns,reiterative verbs,reiterative adjectives,reiterative adverbs and reiterative numerals.There are three ways of translating reiterative words:1.phonetic way—by means of alliteration,by means of assonance;2.vocabulary way—by means of repeating the same word,by means of repeated usage of synonyms and by means of repeating onomatopoeia,and 3.grammatical way—using the plural from of the reiterative nouns.
