    On Theory Sources of Wu Mi’s Ethical Thought and Its Historical Limitation

    • Wu Mi was the leading character of Chinese Xueheng School,whose thought was on his persisting and developing the Chinese traditional ethnical ideas through all his life.He thought politics should be rooted on the moral.In order to save our nation,we should reconstruct the eternal human value and ideal personalities in Chinese traditional culture,that is,from personalities to nationalities.Only in this way could make the catastrophic Chinese people gain the self-respect of "reconstruct our own national self-esteem".Wu’s ethical thought principally originated from Chinese Confucian ideas,as well as benefited from Babbitt’s Neo-humanism and Plato’s philosophy.So that his theory was distinctly characterized by culture-conservatism.Hence,the principal skeleton of Wu’s ethnical theory can be acquired.
