    Research on Intertextuality of Tony Morrison's New Work A Mercy

    • As one of the important concepts concerning with textual criticism in western literary theory, intertextuality refers to not only the mutual reference between texts, but also the reflection between literary text and cultural text which includes social or historical background and ideology, etc. A Mercy, Morrison's new work, reflects the features of intertextuality from the perspective of both literary text and cultural text.In addition, it discloses the unique theme of the novel and shows Morrison's profound insight into history based on the application of intertextuality.
