Research on Educational Identity Discrimination of Higher Vocational Students Based on Grounded Theory

    • In view of the educational identity discrimination of higher vocational college students in China,it conducted in-depth interviews with 21 higher vocational college graduates in multiple rounds and analyzed the interview data by Grounded Theory. The results show that the educational identity discrimination of higher vocational college students mainly comes from social discrimination(including language prejudice and behavioral exclusion) and institutional discrimination, thus forming the stereotype of identity label discrimination and self-discrimination.Through the interview,it is found that there are three main strategies for higher vocational college students to get rid of educational identity discrimination:to obtain the bachelor’s degree by the upgrading examination,to obtain the new identity label by the civil service examination,to obtain the new identity position by the examination of vocational qualification certificate.
