Application of FEM on Preloading Treatment of Storage Yard

Abstract
Based on the principle of preloading reinforcement, taking the land formation and preloading of Gangqitai port area of Lianyungang as an example, the finite element model is established to analyze the distribution law of dredged fill foundation settlement in time and space. The results show that the finite element method can simulate the complex boundary conditions effectively, and overcome the traditional calculation method which only considers one-dimensional settlement and consolidation, and can not solve the complex boundary conditions accurately. According to the settlement data of spatial distribution obtained from the finite element model, the preloading arrangement and unloading amount of each area can be adjusted to solve the control requirements of uneven settlement and slope of the storage yard.
