Research on the Development of Green Buildings from an Ecological Perspective

    • The emergence of green buildings in the construction domain represents an inevitable choice for the construction industry to embrace the concept of green development. In contrast to pristine nature, buildings are, in essence, an artificial creation of humanity. They also serve as a fundamental spatial form for human social existence and livelihood. To this day, the entire metabolic process of buildings has persistently had a substantial impact on environmental safety and health, and this impact, in turn, threatens the safety of humanity itself. To safeguard the harmonious coexistence and sustainable development of humans and nature, the construction industry must transition from a traditional development paradigm characterized by resource depletion and environmental degradation to a new model that prioritizes environmental friendliness. This ecological approach should be implemented across the construction sector as a mandatory social policy or measure. Moreover, it necessitates a fundamental shift in the mindsets of industry practitioners and their active commitment to sustainable practices.
